Susan McNaughton has experienced spirit possession in the company of NASA scientists and archaeo-astrologers in Ossining, New York;  life as a dancer and choreographer in Canada, Europe and India; holds a piano performance degree; performed ceremonial fire offerings at sunrise in the company of an aghori in  Benares, India; acted as birth coach to her first nephew; braved throngs of wild and brilliant adolescents as the co-coordinator of a dance program in  Toronto high school; danced with the Glass Orchestra in Berlin, Germany; and sweated with Deer tribe medicine men and women in Trout Creek, Ontario.  Susan also holds MA degrees in Fine Arts and Anthropology, York University. The focus of Susan’s anthropological research concerns the role of religion in the development of civil society.

Susan’s study of jyotish was inspired by her dear teacher, Mantri, with whom she   deepened her practice with the study of Indian philosophy, spiritual practices and Sanskrit in order to acquire knowledge of the philosophical system of which jyotish is a part.  She has been a jyotish consultant and teacher since 1993.
